SLC 5/05 processor

The SLC 5/05 processor supports Ethernet communication via the Ethernet communication (10Base-T) channel 1.
While the RS232 (via DB9) is channel 0 which supports DH485, DF1 or ASCII). See diagram below (diagram is from page 238 of the “SLC 500 Modular Hardware Style – User Manual”. See reference below)

The Ethernet port can be configured using the Rockwell BOOTP utility. You can also manually configure the Ethernet port but you will still have to deselect BOOTP Enable option by unchecking that checkbox.

Once the Ethernet port has been configured, you can use the web browser to access the SLC module information, TCP/IP configuration, and diagnostic information just type the IP address of the SLC500 on the bowser URL textbox.
Note that the embedded web server is only available for SLC 5/05 processors with OS501, Series C, FRN 6 (or later).
