If your network is slow sometimes and you start noticing lost in data packets. How can you rectify this problem. From Year 1 of Computer Science knowledge will point you to increasing your cache for the software. Matrikon calls that cache message queue. This article will highlight how to increase your message queue size larger so that it give the MatrikonOPC Tunneller that buffer memory to store slightly more data as it tries to re-establish connection to the destination machine.
Lets start off by setting up the log file. Start the Matrikon Gateway Configuration Tool from the Windows Start menu (bottom left-side of the window). Search for the word “Server” and start the “Matrikon Gateway Configuration Tool” as an administrator.
Once the Matrikon Gateway Configuration Tool is started, change the “Max Size of Queue, message” from 5 to 20.
Restart the MatrikonOPC Tunneller Server using the windows services.
If you have a redundant MatrikonOPC Tunneller architecture, do the same queue size setup to the standby MatrikonOPC Tunneller.
Note
– Tunneller.cfg is the configuration file which can be edited using your favorite Text Editor
– Tunneller.txt is the log file.
