Below are instructions that will reset the Eaton Xpert Meter 2000 PMX 2000 Gateway Card back to its default settings.
1. Remove control power to the meter
2. Remove the card from the meter and locate Dip-switch 6 and move it up to the ON position. This is on a very small bank of 8 Dip-switches in the middle of the bottom edge of the card.
3. Replace the card. Be careful and make sure the card is in the guides and properly seats.
4. Apply power to the meter and wait for the status light to light Green. This can take ~ 2 minutes.
5. Connect to meter with laptop configured to subnet 192.168.1.XXX where XXX is any number between 2 and 254. Ping the meter’s default IP Address of 192.168.1.1 and confirm you can connect to the webpage. At this point the IP Address should show on the front of the meter as 192.168.001.001. Do not make any configuration changes yet.
6. Power down the meter and remove the card.
7. Move Dip-switch 6 down back to the OFF position.
8. Replace the card. Be careful and make sure the card is in the guides and properly seats.
9. Apply power to the meter and wait for the status light to light Green.
10. Reconnect and configure network settings appropriately.
Even though the meter displays zeroes as placeholders in the IP Address DO NOT use those place holding zeroes when readdressing the meter. Entering 10.127.001.010 as an example will cause the card to lose communication again. The proper IP in this example would be 10.127.1.10
There is a really good Quick Start Guide here.
