This article is for reference for anyone who is looking to replace or get a new PLC batter for any Rockwell PLC. This is just a reference and I got the information from Rockwell website therefore I don’t take any credit for this document. Also the tables are from Rockwell document.
I seen the Rockwell PLC battery last anywhere from 5 to 10 years throughout my career. That is if you want to run the battery to failure, but I would not recommend it to run to failure as battery in the PLC prevent data loss should there be power interruption. In a nutshell, the battery helps power the RAM which sustains the process data (even when there is power failure) until power is restored.
It is important to note that battery like any electronics components, the lifespan is directly correlated with the ambient temperature that is is in. The table below shows that relationship and how often it should be replaced.

Some plants have embedded PLC battery replacement as an annual PM… which I think is an overkill but if operation thinks that it is critical process then…. well… I rest my case.
