TechTalk – RSLogix 5 : What Is That Pound Sign In File Address

What Is That Pound In File Address??

We have all seen it… the “#” in front of the file address. What does that mean?
It just means the starting address. Say if you have “#N48:10”, the instruction will start writing the result of the expression to N48:10 and then N48:10 and so on based on the length setting.
If you have a FAL instruction that has a length of 16, the FAL will write to N48:10, then N48:11, then N48:12 and continue through N48:25.
